Our Story

Since 1928

Blooming gift had its beginnings in a small local flower shop located in downtown Toronto. After developing a traditional retail flower business, in 2005 the owner decided to try something new by expanding into online sales with an innovative business model and a more efficient way to sell flowers. Bloomex was born along with its motto of “Fresh, Fast and Fair.” The company goal: to provide Canadian customers with superior quality gifts at much lower prices.

How Does Blooming gift Do It?

It’s a formula that worked, and still does. Firstly, the company buys products directly from growers and suppliers. This arrangement eliminates the wholesalers (middlemen) from the equation which greatly decreases costs and shorter farm to recipient timelines which provides a much fresher product for you, the customer.

The next step was to market, sell and prepare the products through Blooming gift own production facilities. Customers can order gift and gifts online, on the phone, or through live chat with the Blooming gift team of dedicated customer service staff. This ensures a more efficient and professional experience for every order. Having our own production facilities to carefully prepare and send your order means a better product and on time delivery, to more locations coast to coast.

Company Growth

We are pleased to see that customers are happy with the significant savings and the fresh, quality products. Bloomex has grown year after year. The company was able to add production facilities in more provinces and today operates eight in Canada (Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver). Product offerings were expanded as well, with gourmet gift baskets, luxury spa baskets, delicious gourmet foods, balloons and other unique gift items being added for customers.

In 2011, Blooming gift opened a UAE. location in Dubai, Abu Dhabi. It began selling gift directly to customers under the Bunches Direct brand. Blooming gift also expanded into United Arab Emirates in 2011, opening a production facility in Saudi Arabia and continuing it’s mission to provide better quality gift and lower prices. Over the last twelve years, following the same successful formula has expanded it’s Same Day Delivery by opening fully owned and operated floral production facilities in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.

Today, Blooming gift is proud to be Canada’s “Official Florist” and to serve UAE virtually coast to coast as the largest and most successful florist in the nation. In 2023, Blooming gift saw it’ four millionth customer successfully served.
